Creating that perfect island settingIslands have become a focal point to many kitchens. They can provide personality, function, seating, added prep area and flavor to their environment. But can one lone island do it all? Yes, if smartly designed. However, if your kitchen project has floor space, why not do two? Two islands are becoming more commonplace in homes throughout the country. When creating your next island use it as a way to show your creative flair. Don’t be afraid to mix countertop materials, incorporate multiple levels to the surface, design an interesting shape or dimension or combine color accents that make the room pop. If your island has a sink incorporated into it, use the faucet as an extra exclamation point to the style you’ve created.
