Job Title: Master Planner
Reporting To: Donna Halawa
Travel: 15%
Location: Woodridge, IL
 
Position Description 
The Master Planner of vitreous china products will work directly with our team in China to plan and schedule production for all of North American demand. This position is responsible for forecasting, gross requirement planning and managing the rough-cut capacity plan with our factory team and international purchasing teams in China.
 
Scope of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Production/inventory replenishment planning
  • Review and analyze finished goods/parts forecast for North America
  • Develop monthly production gross requirement
  • Adjust rough-cut capacity plan to ensure we are producing the correct SKUs and quantities to meet the future demand
  • Monitor, review and update target coverages, ABC classifications, planning parameters in all tools such as: E2E, DCM and Oracle
  • Purchase in accordance with the supply plan to insure fill rates above 98% while managing inventory turnover to planned levels
  • Maintain and manage the accuracy of open purchase orders in addition to final closing purchase orders
  • Weekly allocation of inventory to the distribution centers based on forecast and target coverage
  • Communicate with our factory and suppliers across the globe in a professional and effective manner
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams for new product forecast, product promotions, and to communicate product shortages
  • Develop and implement process improvement change to reduce complexity and eliminate non-value added work
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or equivalent field
  • 1-5 years’ experience in inventory planning, capacity planning and forecasting
  • Ability to travel up to 15% both nationally and to China 
  • Bilingual English/Chinese (Mandarin) a plus 
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite: Intermediate/Strong skills in Microsoft Excel required
  • CPIM certification preferred, may be in progress 
  • Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods and MRP environment
  • Basic understanding of demand forecasting and the ability to translate this information into supply and procurement strategies
  • A clear understanding of the relationship between the planning systems and their effect on inventory and service levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High customer focus
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in teams in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Hands-on, hardworking, action-oriented, and results driven
  • Demonstrates a “roll up your sleeves” initiative to get the job done
  • Willingness to cooperate and accept added responsibilities
