Quality Assurance/Support Engineer

Job Title:             Quality Assurance/Support Engineer

Reporting To:     Quality Assurance Engineering Manager – Private Brands

Travel:                  Up to 25% both Domestic and International

Location:             Woodridge, IL

 

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, oversee, and participate in the activities of engineering & QA process. Drive process improvements as it relates to QA/Engineering systems. Additionally support NPD activities in design evaluation and implementation of new products. Specific examples but not limited to activities of the team and role are as follows:
    • Provide leadership/guidance for the implementation of systems & communication improvements between factory and NA teams.
    • Support Technical Support activities for issues that escalate through the Call Center.
    • Provide technical support to the factory for efforts to understand customer issues.
    • Manage, evaluate & validate customer complaints and issue CAR’s (Corrective Action Requests) to factory for appropriate action.
    • Follow through on CAR to ensure root cause resolution is completed.
    • Organize and support quality and engineering rework projects in the warehouse or customer sites.
    • Evaluate/recommend changes to new products pre & post pilot run.
    • Provide essential feedback to the factory for product issues defined as either design or manufacturing issues including possible tooling or process issues.
  • Maintain familiarity with codes and standards that impact our product categories and participate in industry forums and meetings of necessary code bodies
  • Daily communication with customers & factory
  • As required, visit customers and/or job sites with product issues and assist in resolution. This position will require domestic travel to construction sites as required.
  • Support claim issues by evaluating data as obtained from data generated by the Contact Center
  • Technical Support activities – support this team in quick resolution of customer issues by assisting in defining parts required, installation issues or product replacement
  • Facilitate and coordinate the consensus design discipline between QC/QA (Asia & NA), manufacturing and marketing areas of the company
  • Assist with other quality functions and projects as required
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in the job offered or in manufacturing environment preferably related to faucet components or assembly
  • Mechanical assembly design with ProE, or equivalent experience, utilizing components from brass casting, forging and plastics.
  • Developing statistical control plans and design fixtures using quality control principles for better production control.
  • Bilingual, English/ Spanish is a plus.
