Danze, Inc., a leader in the plumbing products industry, has added a 3-port diverter to its extensive shower product mix. This new 3-port diverter is an excellent option for homeowners, builders, and other industry professionals who are looking to upgrade their standard or current shower experience. “Our 3-port diverter fills a void between the entry-level pressure balance valve that supports one showerhead and the high flow rate thermostatic valve that supports 3+ components,” says Christine Hau, senior product manager. The 3-port diverter houses two ports to support any combination of two components - showerhead, rain shower, handheld shower, etc. – while the third port serves as the water inlet. With most shower systems operating each component at 2.5 gallons per minute, this new diverter can accommodate up to 5.0 gallons per minute to ensure high performance. According to Hau, the 3-port valve provides a significant benefit for builders who are looking for a noticeable but affordable way to upgrade bathrooms within their standard homes. The same application applies to a homeowner doing a remodel, giving them the flexibility to add another component to their shower. “Many builders are selling a single showerhead shower experience complemented by a Roman tub as their standard,” continues Hau. “This allows them to add an impressive second component to the shower for a nominal cost but significant impact.” The diverter is available in two models: shared flow and non-shared flow variations. (Non-shared flow helps address needs in states of drought such as California.)
